My life took a notable turn 3 years ago. After spending my years chasing knowledge in equations and science, I set my books aside and sought to find what was missing in my life. I quickly found that what I needed was mental stimulation in the form of creativity! With my love for programming, and a great interest for games, I took a break from university to take on game development. And what an amazing experience it's been!
Programming found me late in my life. It wasn't until my second year of secondary school that I was introduced to it by making Windows Forms applications in my C# course. But it didn't take long until I began experimenting by myself, finding rendering frameworks like XNA and MonoGame and made my first space shooter. Today I find myself writing scripts left and write in a multitude of languages to make some helpful tool, some interesting mechanic or a good laugh with my friends. In that first class of my C# course I was introduced to a world of possibilities, and now I'm exploring them, one by one.
I've had the opportunity to participate in plenty of projects during my studies in Future Games, a vocational game development school in Stockholm. Working with other disciplines has taught me a lot about the pipeline of a game project. The sort of harmonic flow that comes to life when so many moving parts comes together. I've kept much focus on adaptability, and it's proven to be very effective.
I believe the programmer's most important role is to simplify this pipeline. Whether it be through the systems they create in the engine, helpful scripts to manage projects, or development in general. I believe myself to be quick witted about what can be improved and what I can do to alleviate time consuming tasks.
I would say that my strongest side is prototyping. I work well with taking an idea from paper and make something functional out of it. That's not to say that I can't do fully functional features. It's common practice for me to take everyone in consideration when developing something, whether they're the ones using it, developing it with me, or working to improve it in the future.
